Author and pastor Nadia Bolz-Weber is Tuesday’s guest speaker at the Point Loma Writer’s Symposium

Point Loma Nazarene University’s Seaside Writers’ Symposium returns as an in-person festival beginning Tuesday, February 22, featuring an interview with author and Lutheran minister Nadia Bolz-Weber.

Known for her bold approach to religion and radical honesty, Bolz-Weber is the founder of the House for All Sinners and Saints congregation in Denver, Colorado. She is also a bestselling author. Her books include “Shameless: A Sexual Reformation,” “Accidental Saints: Finding God in all the Wrong People,” and “Pastrix: The Cranky, Beautiful Faith of a Sinner & Saint.”

Bolz-Weber joined Midday Edition on Tuesday to talk about how she thinks the COVID-19 pandemic has changed the way Americans think about religion, as well as what she looks for in a sermon.

“I want a sermon that speaks very deeply to the truth of human experience and then says something about the divine that allows us to live another day, to breathe deeper,” she said.
