Hesperia author Michael Raff publishes “Shadowland”, a collection of supernatural horror stories

Longtime author Michael Raff has published his seventh book, “Shadowland,” a collection of seven supernatural horror stories.

The stories of “Shadowland” include a clairvoyant trying to stop the world’s worst pandemic, a demon seeking the souls of the newly fallen, an evil entity guarding his treasure and a “good old-fashioned werewolf story,” according to Raff.

Raff said the far-reaching subjects that make up the tales of “Shadowland” resulted from his desire to “put a little bit of everything” this time around.

A resident of Hesperia, Raff has been writing since the age of 13. He grew up in Chicago and moved to California in 1968.

He wrote his first horror story, “The Door”, in 1983. Since then, with the exception of “Special” – a memoir about his romance with a young Mormon girl – Raff has written either horror stories short, or complete horror novels. .

Some of Raff’s other books include the anthologies: “Seven: Tales of Terror”, “Scare Tactics” and “Shreds”. His two horror novels are: “Skeleton Man” and “Stalkers”.

Raff has been writing full time since he retired, moved to Hesperia, and joined the High Desert branch of the California Writers Club.

“Joining the club has been one of the best things I’ve ever done,” he said.

All of Raff’s books are available for purchase at amazon.com, mraffbooks.com, and nevermoreenterprises.com.

Raff co-founded Nevermore Enterprises with author Roberta Smith. He called the business a unique partnership designed to promote and market his and Smith’s books.

Raff will be one of the featured writers at Town’s End Farmer’s Market, 22020 Highway 18, Apple Valley (across from the post office), Booth 74, Sunday, June 27, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
