Lakers: NBA writer applauds LeBron James for ‘elitist’ tweet – All Lakers

LeBron tweets and writers write. That’s how it goes. Earlier this week, LeBron called out NBA voters for awarding Memphis Grizzlies guard Ja Morant the most improved player.

Essentially, LeBron tried to bury voters and insinuated that some of the voters didn’t have “real basketball brains.”

Thusday, Athletic’s Joe Vardona senior NBA writer for the company, LeBron replied.

“LeBron James is so elitist.”

Vardon didn’t really appreciate LeBron’s criteria for who should and shouldn’t win the Most Improved Player award, or his reprimand from NBA award voters. The writer also took a swipe at LeBron’s Lakers futility last season in the process.

“I don’t know how it can be interpreted any other way that the NBA’s Most Improved Player award is for players who stank until all of a sudden they didn’t. Which is good. sure nonsense… I just laughed when I saw LeBron’s tweet. It reminded me of when he tore up the NBA Play-In tournament, only to find himself there with the Lakers last season. Well sure, the Lakers couldn’t even get that far this year.

To be fair to James, he wasn’t alone in his thought process. Several prominent voters, including Bill Simmons and Ryen Russillo of The Ringer, also said Morant probably shouldn’t win the award.

Based on the past few weeks, it’s probably not the last NBA fans will hear of LeBron or the last time the 18-time All-Star blew up the media.
