Lexington author plans release event for party book and equipment rental company


A party will be held on June 13 for the release of the latest book by a Lexington author. A Lexington family wants to help you party with opening a party equipment rental business. MasterBrands Cabinets in Lexington is planning a hiring event. Here’s what’s going on in Davidson County.

Lexington author Tonya Lanier will host a book release celebration on Sunday, June 13 at the Breeden Amphitheater in the Historic Depot district in downtown Lexington.

His latest book, “Lost in the Shuffle … Too: More Stories that Need to be Told”. continues Lanier’s mission to capture the stories of the older residents of Davidson County. This will be Lanier’s fourth published book, three of which focus on telling the stories of the region’s elders.

When the book releases on June 13, several of the local residents who shared their stories with Lanier will be in attendance, such as Pauline Norman, Reverend Dr. Arnetta Beverly, Etta White, Bobby Ricks and Dr. Lacy H. Caple.

The event will run from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Everyone is invited to bring a garden chair or a blanket. Reverend Sherise Lindsay will host, DJ Anthony Fuller will spin tunes and Reverend Paul Milton will speak. The books will be available for purchase.

“I know so many people,” Lanier said in a previous interview of the book. “I don’t know all of their stories, but I know everyone has a story to tell. I love that they invite me over to their house.”

Lanier was one of 46 artists from Davidson, Davie, Forsyth, Guilford and Randolph counties who received an Artist Support Grant from ArtsGreensboro and the Winston-Salem and Forsyth County Arts Council to support the development professional and artistic. The grant helped Lanier finance the publication of the book.

Additionally, Lanier is hosting two book signing events for Lexington on June 19. From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Lanier will have his book signed at the Evenbrooke market, located at 15, promenade Murphy. Then from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., she’ll be signing books at the June 17 celebration at 4th Street Park.

It’s Bounce Time opens in Lexington

Davidson County has a whole new way to party after Lexington’s Monita Payne opened It’s Bounce Time.

Lexington Company Attends National Recruitment Event

MasterBrand Cabinets Inc., which has a location in Lexington, will host a National Recruitment Day at all of its manufacturing plants across the United States.

The hiring event will take place on Wednesday, June 2 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. (local factory time) at participating MasterBrand locations. Part-time and full-time production associate positions must be filled. The Lexington facility is located at 118 Lexington Pkwy.
