Meghan Markle’s children’s book is not plagiarized, says author


She’s okay with that. After Meghan markle Newly announced children’s book drew comparisons to another 2018 title, author Corrinne Averiss defended it via social networks.

“Reading the description and the published excerpt from the Duchess’s new book, it is not the same story or the same theme as The boy on the bench, ” Averiss tweeted on Wednesday, May 5. “I don’t see any similarity.”

The Duchess of Sussex, 39, announced her new book on Tuesday, May 4. The bench was inspired by Prince harry relationship with his son Archie, 11 months old.

The bench started as a poem I wrote for my husband on Father’s Day, the month after Archie was born, Suit alum said in a press release. “This poem has become this story. Christian [Robinson] layered in beautiful and ethereal watercolor illustrations that capture the warmth, joy and comfort of the relationship between fathers and sons from all walks of life. This portrayal was especially important to me, and Christian and I worked closely to portray this special bond through an inclusive lens.

Following the book’s announcement, online reviews began to compare The bench to the 2018 Averiss book, The boy on the bench, illustrated by Gabriel Alborozo.

“The playground is full of children playing, but Tom is sitting on a bench with his father. He’s just not sure he’s brave enough to join us, ”according to the publisher’s description. The boy on the bench bed. “Tom can’t see a space for himself anywhere in the playground. The short published excerpts from The bench do not seem to be about the relationships of the child characters with other children, but rather their relationships with their parents. In one illustration, a young boy greets his father, dressed in military fatigues, while his mother looks out the window.

In another image, a father is resting on a bench while his son takes a nap on his chest. “My hope is that The bench resonates with every family, regardless of makeup, as much as mine, ”the Duchess added in the press release.

The California native and the prince, 36, are currently expecting their second child. In their March interview, which aired on CBS, the couple revealed the baby was a girl.

“Just to have a boy and a girl, what more could you ask for?” Harry gushed out at that moment. “We have our family. We have, you know, the four of us and our two dogs, and that’s awesome.
