Melissa Etheridge Announces ‘Heartstrings’ Graphic Novel

Z2 comics has announced the release of a new graphic novel chronicling the life of Melissa Etheridge.

Title Heartstrings: Melissa Etheridge and her guitars, the release will tell the stories of the singer through her impressive collection of instruments. Each chapter will feature another of his guitars – each named after an important woman in history – and detail the unique journeys they have taken.

“As many of my fans know, my relationship with my guitars is more than special and these instruments hold a very important place in my life,” Etheridge explained via a press release. “I’m so excited to share all of these stories and images from across my collection and have them all become part of this amazing graphic novel.”

For the project, the singer’s stories were performed by writers Frank Marrafino and Steve Hochman, while Manuela Pertega provided the illustrations.

Heartstrings: Melissa Etheridge and her guitars is available in softcover or hardcover, with various bundles available containing additional bonus material. The Super Deluxe Edition comes with Etheridge’s autograph, plus exclusive art prints, coasters, journal, enamel pin, and lanyard. The Platinum Guitar Edition – limited to 100 copies – includes all of the aforementioned items, plus a signed Epiphone DR-100 guitar, decorated with the book cover.

The graphic novel and its bundles are all available for pre-order now, with an official release slated for June.

Etheridge is a two-time Grammy winner who has released 17 albums during her long and impressive career. In 2007, she won an Oscar for her song “I Need to Wake Up” from the documentary An inconvenient truth.
