SARATOGA SPRINGS – The Saratoga Performing Arts Center will continue its CulinaryArts @ SPAC initiative from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, October 16, with an event celebrating the Negroni, a cocktail which in its original version is equally Campari, gin and red Vermouth . It will be held in the Nancy DiCresce room of The Pines @ SPAC installation

The special guest of the evening will be Matt Hranek, author of the new summer book “The Negroni: A Love Affair with a Classic Cocktail”, which, along with Brendan Dillon, co-owner of Hamlet & Ghost in Saratoga Springs, will provide a flight of Negroni variations to accompany light meals by Kim Klopstock of Lily and the Rose catering in Saratoga.

Following the reception, Joe Donahue of WAMC Northeast Public Radio will host a discussion on the history of the Negroni with Hranek and Dillon, followed by a Q&A and book signing for those who wish to purchase a copy.

Tickets for the reception, tasting and discussion are $ 30. Proof of coronavirus vaccination or a recent negative test is required for admission, and masks should be worn when not eating or drinking.

Tickets are available on the PSPC website.
