The Richmond Observer – Authors sign children’s book at Dobbins Heights Community Center


DOBBINS HEIGHTS – Elizabeth Johnson and Tyrell Plair signed copies of their new children’s book about life lessons at the town’s community center Friday and Saturday.

Other members of Georgia-based PlayTy Multimedia and Publishing joined the authors.

The book, “Just Like My Dad,” follows four children – Miriam, Justin, Desmond and Tyler – as parents, and community baseball coach, Coach Carl, try to teach every child sportsmanship, teamwork, responsibility and life lessons.

It was released on May 19.

The storylines have fictional characters in fictional settings but are based on true stories, according to Plair.

Authors and members of the editorial team are committed to changing the lives of young people.

Johnson, co-author and chief marketing officer, explores the development of a workbook to accompany “Just Like My Dad”, so that the book can be used by parents and teachers to open conversations about the circumstances of real life and how to deal with it. the world today.

The Brooklyn native has associate degrees in early childhood education and general education and is currently working on a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Management, according to the PlayTy website. Johnson currently lives in Florida.

Plair, who is also the CEO of PlayTy, is a Chicago native and military veteran, and has a Bachelor of Science in Applied Psychology with a concentration in Media and Technology from the University of Phoenix.

In addition to writing her debut album “Stolen Innocence” in 2019, Plair’s writing credits include screenplays, commercials, and witty novels.

“The mission statement is to promote literacy to the world in a positive light,” Plair said. “Our main goal is to promote literacy, to get people to read and to get people to care about the education of children.

Plair went on to explain that the company was interested in releasing a wide variety of posts.
