The second wave of ‘Star Wars: The High Republic’ novels has arrived. Here is what you need to know.


Earlier this year, Disney Lucasfilm Press launched the first wave of “Star Wars: The High Republicbooks and comics that featured a new roster of heroes and villains leaping and battling across the galaxy.

These interwoven “Star Wars” stories were spread across multiple publishing platforms and occurred during the Golden Age of the Jedi Knights, when lightsaber warriors were the legendary protectors of the Republic in its glorious heyday.

Now, Disney has announced the next phase of this publishing business which focuses on the continuing saga that unfolds 200 years before “The Phantom Menace” by posting covers, catalog descriptions and on-sale dates for three more. “The High Republic” novels serving the Mid-level markets, young adults and adults.

The first in hyperspace on June 29 is the Middle Grade title, “Crashpoint Tower Race“(Disney Lucasfilm Press, 2021), by Daniel Jose Older.

Del Rey Books is the Adult release also launches June 29, “The storm that rises (Disney Lucasfilm Press, 2021) by acclaimed British author Cavan Scott, who was the co-creator of Marvel’s “The High Republic” comic series that was discontinued earlier this year.

Through StarWars.com, the plot unfolds as follows:
