Ezekiel Richardson’s plan is underway to change the course of history. Will it work in the foreigner Book 10? Can Claire and Jamie keep the story on track?
Caution: There are major spoilers on Richardson’s Go tell the bees that I’m gone in this post.
There were many questions answered in Go tell the bees that I’m gone, but many questions remained unanswered. We also received a lot of new questions for the foreigner Book 10.
We found out that Ezekiel Richardson and Mike Callahan are one and the same. Richardson’s goal is to prevent the Americans from winning the War of Independence. He wants to allow the British to win.
Is it even possible? We have seen time and time again that it is impossible to change the future, but is it just because the people who are trying to change big events just don’t have enough influence or knowledge?
Can Jamie and Claire stop Richardson in Outlander Volume 10?
The 10th book is sure to continue the story. Richardson’s plan has only just begun. He wanted to stop Hal’s speech.
Hal Grey’s speech is something that leads the authorities to lose their support for the British. This does not guarantee that the story will change. This would lead to the authorities staying with the British for the time being, but there are still other events that could happen to lead to support for change on the American side.
Richardson knows that, doesn’t he? He must know it was never a big event. There have been a lot of events and he needs to make changes everywhere.
It has the advantage of being able to do so. He probably researched everything before time traveling. He could find the most important moments and walk through them slowly, and he certainly has the influence to do it.
Claire and Jamie will have to find a way to stay one step ahead of him. They will want Americans to win now that they have switched sides to be on the “right side of history.”
It’s always surprising that Brianna didn’t spend time researching all that was possible about the War of Independence when she was in the 1980s. Granted, that would have been difficult as a single mom (Roger the was in the past) and with people after her and her children. However, it doesn’t even appear that she considered watching before time travel again.
Everything will surely work out for the Frasers. Can books really end with heartbreak and the whole story changing? I guess we’ll have to wait a few years to find out.
